Emergency Passport

Note:

  • This procedure can only be carried out in person at the Consulate, where your fingerprints will be taken to verify your identity.
  • You can only apply if your Uruguayan passport was valid.
  • This passport is for emergency use only.
  • The document is not issued immediately; it requires prior approval by the authorities in Uruguay. Once approved, you will be notified.
  • If you are travelling to Uruguay, the document will be retained upon entry into the country; in this case, in order to leave the country again, you will need to apply for a new passport while in Uruguay.

Once you have carefully reviewed all the requirements detailed above, please request an appointment by emailing cgchongqing@mrree.gub.uy, attaching the required documents.

After verifying the information, you will receive a reply with the details of your appointment to appear at the Consulate on the date and time indicated.

Cost: The cost is approximately CNY 367, and it will be determined in CNY on the first business day of each month. You will be notified of this in the reply email to your request. Please schedule an appointment via cgchongqing@mrree.gub.uy

Requirements

  • Original Uruguayan identity card. If you do not have one, present the original of another identification document.
  • Original passport or copy if it has been lost or stolen.
  • Imminent travel itinerary.
  • If you are applying due to theft or loss of identity documents, you must present a report made to the competent authorities.
  • Report in the Uruguayan Public Security Management System (to be made at the time of application).
