Before applying, please check whether your nationality requires a visa by consulting the Uruguayan Ministry of the Interior’s Visa Policy for Foreign Nationals.
Tourist Visa
Requirements:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months and in good condition.
- Round-trip travel itinerary.
- Hotel reservation.
- Proof of income, properly documented, to demonstrate means of support during your stay in Uruguay.
- Completed visa application form (available at the bottom of the page).
- Digital photograph taken in good lighting / Background: White / Dimensions: 1200×1200 pixels.
- Interview with the Consular Officer.

After verifying the information, you will receive confirmation with the date and time of your appointment at the Consulate.

Work Visa
Requirements:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months and in good condition.
- Job offer letter or employment contract issued by a legally registered company or institution in Uruguay, in accordance with current national regulations. It must include: company’s name, business activity, tax registration numbers with DGI and BPS, and the personal details of the legal representative, and their signature.
- Round-trip travel itinerary.
- Completed visa application form (available at the bottom of the page).
- Digital photograph taken in good lighting / Background: White / Dimensions: 1200×1200 pixels.
- Interview with the Consular Officer.

Business Visa
Requirements:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months and in good condition.
- Letter of invitation from the company, office, or public body in Uruguay, on official letterhead and signed by the responsible authority. The letter must include the personal details of the person issuing the invitation.
- Letter from your current employer stating the purpose of travel, your position, the company’s name, and business activity.
- Round-trip travel itinerary.
- Hotel booking or proof of accommodation.
- Completed visa application form (available at the bottom of the page).
- Digital photograph taken in good lighting / Background: White / Dimensions: 1200×1200 pixels.
- Interview with the Consular Officer.

- Proof of income, properly documented, demonstrating means of support and accommodation in Uruguay for the intended duration of stay.
- Certificate of enrolment or official letter from the public or private educational institution in Uruguay. The letter must be on official letterhead, signed by the legal representative, include their personal details, and state the institution’s registration number with the Ministry of Education and Culture.
- Round-trip travel itinerary.
- Completed visa application form (available at the bottom of the page).
- Digital photograph taken in good lighting / Background: White / Dimensions: 1200×1200 pixels.
- Interview with the Consular Officer.

Visa for Congresses, Conventions, and Seminars (National or International)
Requirements:
- Passport valid for at least 6 months and in good condition.
- Invitation letter from the event organizers. For private institutions, the letter must include a description of the institution and the event, registration number with the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the personal details of the responsible person.
- Document certifying the public interest status of the event.
- Round-trip flight reservation.
- Travel itinerary.
- Completed visa application form (available at the bottom of the page).
- Digital photograph taken in good lighting / Background: White / Dimensions: 1200×1200 pixels.
- Interview with the Consular Officer.
