Consulate General in Chongqing

The conference was delivered in Spanish by the Uruguayan history professors residing in China, M.A. Georgina Pagola and M.A. Liber Di Paulo, who engaged in exchanges with the students who, within the framework of the activity, asked questions and demonstrated great interest in the history of Uruguay and its National Hero, José Gervasio Artigas.

It should be noted that during the visit, a meeting was held with the University authorities. The Consul of Uruguay in Chongqing, Valentín Touris, together with the Uruguayan professors, was received by the Dean of the University, Wang Dianjian, the Secretary General of the CPC Committee, Yao Bin, and the Director of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese Languages, Zhang Qingqing.

It is worth highlighting that during the meeting, the University authorities expressed their appreciation to the Consulate for Uruguay’s active presence in Gansu Province and for organizing the academic activity. They also expressed particular interest in promoting academic exchanges and cooperation with Uruguayan universities and in continuing to organize activities together with the Consulate General of Uruguay in Chongqing.
