Consulate General in Guangzhou

From September 3 to 5, Uruguay participated in SIAL Guangzhou 2026, the fourth edition of the exhibition held in southern China, focused on the professional food and beverage sector and complementing the traditional SIAL Shanghai edition.

Uruguay has maintained a sustained presence at SIAL China, with the Uruguayan National Meat Institute (INAC) participating continuously since 2004. Among the main milestones of this longstanding participation was SIAL Shanghai 2023, when Uruguay was distinguished as Country of Honor.

At the opening ceremony of SIAL Guangzhou 2026, the Consulate General of Uruguay delivered remarks on behalf of Latin America, highlighting the region’s relevance as a food supplier to China and Uruguay’s experience as a producer and exporter of high-quality, safe and traceable food products.

During the exhibition, the Consulate General also had a dedicated space together with INAC for the promotion of Uruguayan beef, continuing the work to promote Uruguayan food products and the country’s sustained presence in the southern Chinese market.
