Requirements for the transport of ashes or human remains:

Documents required for the transfer of ashes

1. Copy of passport or Uruguayan identity card.
2. Hong Kong or Macao SAR identity card.
3. Apostilled death certificate valid for 90 days.
4. Certificate of cremation.

Documents required for the transfer of mortal remains

1. Apostilled death certificate.
2. Note signed by the person authorised to carry out the procedure requesting said procedure.
3. Power of attorney or authorisation to carry out the procedure.
4. Certificate of embalming and hermetic sealing of the coffin with the proper official intervention of the doctor, apostilled.
5. Authorisation from the relevant health authority for the transfer of the remains.
6. Copy of the deceased person's document (Uruguayan document if possible).
