Valid for a Single Return Trip to Uruguay (Safe-Conduct Travel Document)

How to start the process

  1. Provide a travel itinerary with Uruguay as your final destination. You may make up to two layovers without passing through immigration (in transit).
  2. If your request is due to theft or loss of your Uruguayan passport, you must present a police report filed with the relevant Hong Kong or Macao authorities, as applicable.
  3. Request an appointment by sending an email to cghongkong@mrree.gub.uy, attaching the required documentation.
  4. Attend your appointment in person with all the necessary documents.
  5. Fee: no cost in cases of theft or loss of a Uruguayan passport. Otherwise, the cost is HKD 141 (subject to minor variations depending on the exchange rate between the HKD and US dollars for the current month). Payment must be made via bank deposit on the day of the appointment.

Important: This travel document is valid for eight consecutive days and must be surrendered to Uruguayan immigration authorities upon entry into the country.

Who is it for

  • Uruguayan nationals or legal citizens who need to travel to Uruguay and whose travel document is expired, damaged, has no available pages, or has been lost or stolen within the jurisdiction of this Consulate.
  • Children of Uruguayan nationals born abroad (Law 16.021)
