"Behind the Myth" Documentary Screening in Hong Kong
On 31 August, the documentary Detrás del Mito (Behind the Myth) —part of the 2025–2026 Uruguayan Film and Audiovisual Catalogue— was screened in Hong Kong.
The event took place at Spanish World, the only Spanish-learning centre in Hong Kong accredited by the Instituto Cervantes. The screening sparked a discussion on the construction of history, centred on the iconic portrait of Uruguay’s national hero, José Gervasio Artigas, painted by Juan Manuel Blanes.
Consul-General Federico Lage delivered the opening remarks and, following the screening, took part in an engaging Q&A session with the audience. Throughout the event, attendees enjoyed a glass of Tannat wine.
The Consulate-General of Uruguay extends its special thanks to the Uruguayan Film and Audiovisual Agency (ACAU), Spanish World, the Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong, and the Mexican Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong for their valuable coordination in presenting this film, as well as to everyone who joined the screening.
