Oath of Loyalty to the National Flag - Registration
The Consulate General of Uruguay in Sydney informs the community that registrations are now open to participate in the Oath of Loyalty to the National Flag ceremony, which will take place on June 19, as part of the celebration of the 262nd Anniversary of the Birth of National Hero José Gervasio Artigas.
All Uruguayan citizens over 11 years of age residing within the jurisdiction of this Consulate General may register. Please note that this is a one-time ceremony. Therefore, it is not necessary to take the Oath again for those who have already done so but do not have the corresponding certificate. In such cases, it will be sufficient to request the certificate from the institution in Uruguay where the ceremony originally took place.
Individuals or families interested in registering to take the Oath of Loyalty to the National Flag should send an email to cgsydney@mrree.gub.uy, providing the following information:
• Full name of the person taking the Oath
• Date of birth
• Uruguayan identity document or documentation proving Uruguayan nationality (identity card, voter registration card, passport, Uruguayan birth certificate, or foreign birth certificate showing that the person is the child or grandchild of a Uruguayan national)
• Contact telephone number
Further information regarding the location and time of the ceremony will be communicated in due course to registered participants.
