Who is this for?

Interested in authorising a minor to issue or renew a common passport. 

How to begin the process?

1. Required documents: 

• Valid and undamaged identity document (ID or passport) of both parents
• Recent birth certificate of the minor (issued within the last 30 days). If the minor has not been registered with the Civil Registry of Uruguay, registration can be done at the Consulate in Sydney, provided the birth took place within this consular jurisdiction.
• Copy of the minor’s valid identity document
• If one parent is deceased: the surviving parent must attend with their valid ID and present the death certificate of the deceased parent
• Completed application form (available at the bottom of this page)

2. Request an appointment by sending an email to: cgsydney@mrree.gub.uy, attaching the form, the corresponding documentation, and indicating in the subject of the email the requested procedure. 

3. Present yourself in person with the complete documentation on the day of the appointment.
