Civil Registry Certificate (Birth, Marriage, or Death Records)
This procedure may be carried out by the holder or immediate family members requesting a certified copy of a record registered in the Uruguayan Civil Registry database (birth, marriage, or death).
Requirements
- Copy of Uruguayan identity card or passport of the certificate holder
- Record number and registration office where the record was issued
- Names of father and mother of the holder (for birth certificates)
- Place and date of marriage or death
- Identity document of the applicant proving relationship to the holder (if applicable)
Procedure
- Gather the required documentation
- Request the certificate Birth, Marriage, or Death by email to: cgtoronto@mrree.gub.uy, attaching:
- Required documentation
- Scanned copy of identity document: ID card (front and back) or passport (personal data page)
- Specify clearly the institution where the certificate will be submitted
Fee: Free of charge
How do I receive the certificate?
Once issued, the document will be sent by email.
If a physical original is required, the applicant must request an appointment to pick it up at the Consulate by calling 416 730 1289.
