New Zealand / Uruguay at the Third Antarctic Parliamentarians Assembly

On December 8 and 9, 2025, National Representatives Gabriel Tinaglini, President of the Committee on the Maritime Front, Río de la Plata, Laguna Merín and Antarctica, and William Martínez represented Uruguay at the Third Antarctic Parliamentarians Assembly in Wellington, New Zealand.

The assembly, chaired by Andrew Bayly MP, brought together parliamentary delegations to analyse the main challenges facing Antarctica.

Uruguay reaffirmed its commitment to Antarctica as a territory of peace, international cooperation, and scientific development, promoting joint actions aimed at preserving a strategic area for the planet, the climate, and future generations.
