Official Visit of Vice Minister Valeria Csukasi to New Zealand

Upon her arrival, the Vice Minister was welcomed with a Mihi Whakatau, a traditional ceremony that reflects the richness of the Māori culture. A symbol of friendship, understanding, and cultural diversity.
During her visit, the Vice Minister met with New Zealand authorities and private sector stakeholders, reaffirming the commitment to expand the cooperation between the two countries and to explore new opportunities for scientific collaboration, especially in environmental and Antarctic research.
Within these encounters, the meeting with Todd McClay, Minister of Trade, Agriculture, and Forestry and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, was a key opportunity for discussing shared challenges, underscoring the need of strengthening bilateral ties in a challenging global context.
To conclude her comprehensive agenda, the Vice Minister visited the research vessel Kaharoa II, recognizing the fundamental role of marine and climate research.
