Upcoming Visit to New Zealand by Uruguay’s Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The visit of the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, Ambassador Valeria Csukasi will feature a comprehensive agenda focused on enhancing political, economic, scientific, and cultural relations.
During her stay, the Vice Minister will hold bilateral meetings with senior New Zealand authorities, including the Minister for Trade and Agriculture, Todd McClay, and the Deputy Secretary for the Trade and Economic Group, Vangelis Vitalis.
She will also attend working meetings with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT) representatives, to discuss topics of mutual interest related to areas like trade, the environment, Antarctica, and scientific cooperation.
As part of a dialogue with the Latin America–New Zealand Business Council (LANZBC), the Vice Minister will present Uruguay’s perspective on international trade in today’s challenging global context, in front of representatives from different sectors.
The program further includes a visit to the research vessel Kaharoa II and a meeting with New Zealand scientific authorities, with the aim of exploring new opportunities for cooperation in marine research and climate change.
This visit reflects Uruguay’s commitment to commercial and scientific diplomacy, dialogue with partner countries, and the strengthening of ties with the Asia-Pacific region.
