Uruguay and Timor-Leste

Uruguay and Timor-Leste: Friendly Ties, Promising Future. Both countries collaborate in multilateral forums, where they share common positions on key issues such as human rights and sustainable development.

Uruguay established diplomatic relations with Timor-Leste on 23 September 2008.

The bilateral relationship is cordial and based on good intentions, with great potential to deepen technical cooperation, especially in the agricultural and livestock sector. There is ample room to strengthen and formalise the relation through more continuous agreements and dialogue mechanisms.
