Notarial Power of Attorney
For adults who wish to grant a power of attorney to a third person located in Uruguay, authorizing them to carry out a specific procedure on their behalf and in their representation.
Requirements:
- Identity document of the principal.
- Copy of the identity document of the representative.
- A template or draft of the power of attorney to be granted, indicating the address and marital status of both parties.
- Payment of the applicable fee. The exact amount will be indicated by email; please do not make any payment until your appointment has been confirmed. Please note that the amount may vary slightly depending on the monthly exchange rate between euros and U.S. dollars.
Once you have reviewed and complied with the requirements listed above, please request an appointment by sending an email to urubelgica@mrree.gub.uy, attaching all the required documentation for the procedure, including photos of the identity documents.
After verifying the information and adding the relevant consular clauses to the draft power of attorney provided, you will receive a reply with the details of your appointment so that you may attend the Consulate on the indicated date and time.
Please note that sending the document to Uruguay is the responsibility of the applicant. In addition, for the power of attorney to be valid in Uruguay, the signature of the acting consular officer must be legalized and the document must subsequently be protocolized by a public notary in Uruguay.
