Power of Attorney Letter for Pension Fund Reimbursement

Issuance of a Power of Attorney Letter to carry out procedures before the Administradoras de Fondos de Ahorro Previsional (AFAP), the Banco de Previsión Social (BPS), and the Dirección Nacional de Migración (DNM) in Uruguay in matters related to social security.

Requirements:

  • Identity document of the principal.
  • Copy of the identity document of the representative.

Verify with your AFAP whether you meet the legal requirements to request the reimbursement.

If certification of your signature is required on additional forms or documents, these must be sent in advance by email.

Once you have reviewed and complied with the requirements listed above, please request an appointment by sending an email to urubelgica@mrree.gub.uy, attaching all the required documentation for the procedure, including photos of the identity documents.

The Power of Attorney Letter is free of charge. If certification of your signature is required on additional forms or documents, a fee will apply for each certification.

Please note that sending the issued document to Uruguay is the responsibility of the applicant. In addition, for the power of attorney to be valid in Uruguay, the signature of the acting consular officer must be legalized and the document must subsequently be protocolized by a public notary in Uruguay.
