Message from Minister Mario Lubetkin to Uruguayans living abroad

Dear fellow Uruguayans around the world,
At this time of celebration and renewal, I would like to extend my warm greetings on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, the entire team that forms part of it, and myself personally.
This has been my first year at the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and therefore a time of listening, learning, and deep commitment to Uruguayans living around the world. Along this path, I have reaffirmed that distance does not weaken the bond with the land that identifies and unites us; rather, it strengthens it.
We know that these dates carry a special meaning, particularly for those who are far from home. For this reason, I wish to express the recognition and gratitude of the Uruguayan State for the lasting connection you maintain with the country, for your attachment to our traditions, and for the valuable contributions you make every day.
At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, we work with the conviction that there is one single Uruguay, both within and beyond its borders. This work is carried out through the effort and vocation of service of dedicated teams in Uruguay and in every Mission and Consulate around the world, striving to accompany, listen to, and assist each compatriot with closeness and respect.
During this period, we renew our efforts to improve consular services and expand communication channels in order to consolidate a Ministry that is close to the people, modern, and inclusive.
I would like to extend my best wishes for the holiday season and for the year ahead to you, your families, and your loved ones, with health, hope, and new shared projects.
With my warmest regards.
