During the event, the results achieved by the Uruguay–European Union Triangular Cooperation Fund for Sustainable Development were highlighted; an evaluation of the Fund confirmed its contribution to strengthening institutional capacities, improving public policies, and developing initiatives in areas such as digital transformation, the green transition, and social policies. Likewise, the role played by the Fund in consolidating Uruguay’s triangular cooperation strategy and in positioning Uruguay as a key partner in this form of cooperation was emphasized.

The experience also highlighted the value of triangular cooperation as a mechanism that promotes more horizontal relationships among partners, fostering knowledge exchange, mutual learning, and the joint development of solutions tailored to the needs of the participating countries. Among the key best practices identified were the joint definition of cooperation needs, the collaborative design of initiatives, ongoing coordination among institutions, and the creation of stable working environments among the various stakeholders involved.

Uruguay’s participation in this meeting reaffirmed the country’s commitment to international cooperation based on knowledge sharing, institutional strengthening, and the building of strategic partnerships between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean, in line with the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
