Consular Services Outside Regular Business Hours

Information on the extraordinary consular fees applicable to certain consular services provided outside the Embassy's regular business hours or away from the Embassy premises.

Description

Pursuant to the Consular Fee Schedule (Article 233 of Law No. 16,170, Decree No. 336/991 and its subsequent amendments), certain consular services may be subject to the payment of extraordinary fees, in addition to the fee applicable to the requested procedure.

These fees apply when, due to urgency or at the request of the interested party, a consular officer is required to provide services:

  • outside the Embassy’s regular public service hours;
  • away from the Embassy premises; or
  • on public holidays.

Extraordinary fees are separate from the consular fee applicable to the requested service and are calculated in accordance with the regulations in force.

The applicable amounts are as follows:

On Working Days

  • First hour: CAD 104
  • Each additional hour or fraction thereof: CAD 52

On Public Holidays

  • First hour: CAD 130
  • Each additional hour or fraction thereof: CAD 78

In addition, where the service involves the clearance of vessels flying the Uruguayan flag, a surcharge equivalent to 25% of the applicable extraordinary fees shall apply.

Payment must be made together with the consular fee applicable to the requested service, either by Interac e-Transfer to cdottawa@mrree.gub.uy or by bank deposit, in accordance with the instructions provided by the Embassy.
