Valid for one journey only, for the purpose of returning to Uruguay

Uruguayan nationals and legal citizens who need to travel to Uruguay and whose travel document has expired, is damaged, has no remaining blank pages, or has been lost or stolen within this Consulate's jurisdiction.

Requirements

  1. Travel itinerary showing Uruguay as the final destination.
  2. If the application is being submitted due to the theft or loss of a Uruguayan passport, the applicant must provide the police report filed with the competent Canadian authorities.
  3. Completed application form, available at the bottom of this page.

Once you have carefully reviewed the requirements listed above, please request an appointment by emailing cdottawa@mrree.gub.uy  and attaching the required documents.

After the information has been verified, you will receive a reply confirming the date and time of your appointment at the Consulate.

This travel document is valid for eight consecutive days and will be retained by the Uruguayan immigration authorities upon the holder’s entry into Uruguay.

Fee: No fee applies when the document is issued due to the theft or loss of a Uruguayan passport. In all other cases, the fee is approximately CAD 26. The final amount may vary by CAD 1 or 2 depending on the monthly exchange rate between the Canadian and United States dollars.

Payment must be made on the day of the appointment either by Interac e-Transfer to cdottawa@mrree.gub.uy or by bank deposit, in accordance with the instructions provided by the Consulate.
