The Consular Section of the Embassy of Uruguay in Canada Promotes the RECAM 2025 Short Film Competition
The Consular Section of the Embassy of Uruguay in Canada is pleased to share the call for applications for the RECAM 2025 Short Film Competition, organized under the theme “Borders and Encounters” and open to filmmakers aged 18 and over who are nationals of Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, or Uruguay.
Eligible entries must have been completed on or after January 1, 2023, have a maximum running time of 20 minutes, and be produced in Spanish, Portuguese, or Guaraní.
The competition will select two winning films. Each winner will receive a prize of USD 500, as well as the production of an accessible version including subtitles, Argentine Sign Language, and audio description.
Applications will remain open until February 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Montevideo time.
It is also clarified that the reference to participants “born” in the States Parties should be understood as referring to nationals of those countries, and not exclusively to their place of birth.
