The meeting brought together more than 300 leaders from the public and private sectors, including provincial authorities, business representatives, and key stakeholders from the agri-food, energy, logistics, and natural resources sectors. Notable participants included the Premier of Saskatchewan, Scott Moe; AGT Foods CEO Murad Al-Katib; CN CEO Tracy Robinson; and Canpotex CEO Gordon McKenzie.

During the summit, discussions focused on issues related to international trade, food security, sustainability, global supply chains, and the development of strategic partnerships in sectors that are essential to the world economy.

The Embassy’s participation provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of Saskatchewan as a strategic partner for Uruguay, particularly given its role in bilateral trade. The province accounts for more than half of Canadian exports to Uruguay, mainly in areas such as potash and pulses, which are important inputs for agricultural production and food security.

In this context, the Embassy held exchanges aimed at strengthening trade ties, promoting new opportunities for cooperation, and consolidating dialogue with key stakeholders in the agri-food, logistics, and natural resources sectors.

Uruguay’s participation in this event reaffirms its interest in continuing to deepen its economic relationship with Canada, identifying areas of productive complementarity and promoting partnerships that contribute to sustainable development, innovation, and food security.

The Embassy extends special thanks to the Saskatchewan Chamber of Commerce for organizing the event and for providing a high-level forum for dialogue on trade, sustainability, and international cooperation.
