Request for apostilled documents from the Civil Registry of Uruguay
Request for a document issued by the General Directorate of the Civil Registry of Uruguay certifying births, marriages or deaths that have occurred in the national territory, with the corresponding apostille. The apostille is the authentication of the signature appearing on documents issued or processed by Uruguayan public bodies so that they can be presented abroad.
Who can apply?
Individuals or immediate family members who require an apostilled birth, recognition, marriage or death certificate.
Requirements
- Copy of the Uruguayan identity card or Uruguayan passport of the holder of the certificate.
- Copy of the applicant's identity document certifying the relationship with the holder, in the case of a third party.
- If available, a copy of the previous certificate or, otherwise, the details of the certificate to be requested (full names; date of birth/marriage/death; place of birth/marriage/death; father's name and surname; mother's name and surname; and registration details: year, office and certificate number).

Once you have carefully reviewed the requirements listed above, send your application to urualemania@mrree.gub.uy attaching the required documents.
Cost
€17 (the amount may vary depending on the current exchange rate).
Payment must be made by bank transfer. Payment details will be provided after you have sent the requested documentation by email.
