Exploring business opportunities in the Free State of Saxony
The Uruguayan Embassy took part in a visit to the city of Leipzig, organised by the ‘Foreign Council on Economic Relations’
On 17 September 2026, Ambassador López Fabregat took part in working meetings with officials from the city of Leipzig (Free State of Saxony) as well as with executives from various companies in the State of Saxony, as part of a visit to that federal state organised by the “Foreign Council on Economic Relations”.
In this regard, the opportunity and platform were utilised to present Uruguay as a reliable partner in the region, highlighting the various legal frameworks in place for investment and setting up businesses, the relevant tax benefits and the potential for expanded market access under the agreement between MERCOSUR and the EU, whilst emphasising in particular the logistical advantages offered by Uruguay.
