Uruguay’s participation at InnoTrans 2026
The National Director of Rail Transport of the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, and Alternate Secretary of the Latin American Railway Association (ALAF), Mr Waverly Tejera, and the Construction and Maintenance Manager of the National Directorate of Rail Transport, Eng. Luis Rodríguez Riesgo, took part in the “InnoTrans 2026” rail transport trade fair, Berlin, 22–25 September 2026.
The Uruguayan Ambassador to Germany, Fernando López Fabregat, and Counsellor Marcelo Bachechi Pavone held a working meeting with the Uruguayan delegation and officials from the Latin American Railway Association (ALAF) at the latter’s stand. The occasion provided an opportunity to discuss progress on the main strategic projects currently being implemented in the Uruguayan railway system, as well as the challenges facing the sector in Uruguay, the regional coordination currently being developed and the state of the railway sector in Latin America.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary-General of ALAF, José Villafañe, and the Secretary for Administration and International Relations, Víctor Colombano.
