On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the passing of Carlos Gardel.
The Embassy of Uruguay extends its greetings to the Uruguayan community in Israel and informs that today, June 24, marks 90 years since the death of the exceptional tango singer Carlos Gardel (1887–1935). We pay tribute to him on the anniversary of his passing, and note that his voice was inscribed by UNESCO in the International Register of the Memory of the World Programme in 2003 and in the Regional Register for Latin America and the Caribbean in 2011.
