Circular Note Nr. 13/2025 - Justification of Absence in the 2025 University Elections

It is hereby informed that the University Elections were held in the country on Wednesday, November 12, 2025. The following information and applicable regulations are provided for general knowledge.
Voting is mandatory for students, faculty, and graduates of the University of the Republic. If unable to vote on election day, voters must personally justify their failure to comply with this obligation before the Electoral Court through the Court’s website, within a period of 60 days following the election. This means that absence justifications will not be processed through consular offices, as was the case in previous national and departmental elections.
Finally, it is informed that the Electoral Court will respond to inquiries via the following email address: comunicacion-RRPP@corteelectoral.gub.uy.
