Who is this for?

Adults who need to grant a power of attorney to a third party located in Uruguay, so that this person, on their behalf and representation, can carry out the procedure to fulfill the grantor’s purpose.

How is the procedure started?

To start the procedure, you must have the following documentation:
  • Valid identity document of the grantor.
  • Copy of the valid identity document of the attorney-in-fact.
  • Information about the marital status and address of both parties.
  • Model or draft of the Power of Attorney to be granted.
  • Request an appointment by sending an email to: cdtelaviv@mrree.gub.uy or to WhatsApp +972559893089, attaching the corresponding documentation, a contact phone number, and indicating in the subject of the email the procedure requested.
  • Appear in person with the complete documentation on the day of the appointment.

What to do once the Power of Attorney is granted?

Once the power of attorney is granted by the Consular Section, the document must be formalized:
  • Step 1: Once you have obtained the first copy of the Power of Attorney granted at the Consular Section, and for it to be valid in Uruguay, the signature of the acting consular officer must first be legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, Department of Legalizations and Apostilles, located at Cuareim 1384, Montevideo.
  • Step 2: Once the signature of the consular officer has been legalized, the notarial Power of Attorney must be formalized before a Public Notary in Uruguay for it to take effect in the national territory.

Cost: USD 270 (the equivalent in shekels will be paid according to the exchange rate on the first day of the current month). Payment will be made by bank transfer or in cash deposited at the bank branch.

Power of Attorney for BPS

Who is this for?

Adults who need to grant a power of attorney to process retirement before the Social Security Bank (BPS).

How is the procedure started?

To start the procedure, you must have the following documentation:
  • Valid identity document of the grantor.
  • Copy of the valid identity document of the attorney-in-fact.
  • Information about the address of both parties.
  • Before presenting the Power of Attorney to the BPS, the signature of the acting consular officer must be legalized at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, Department of Legalizations and Apostilles, located at Cuareim 1384, Montevideo.

Cost: free of cost.
