September - Diversity Month.
During the month of September, Uruguay is holding a new edition of Diversity Month, which this year adopts the motto “Repairing the present is building the future. More Community, More Democracy,” reaffirming its commitment to building a more inclusive, democratic society that respects diversity.
Uruguay has developed a recognized international track record in promoting the rights of LGBTIQ+ people, both in multilateral forums and through its participation in the Equal Rights Coalition (ERC).
Diversity is a fundamental value of a democratic society, and promoting respect, equality, and peaceful coexistence is also a way of strengthening the community and building a future with more rights, greater inclusion, and more democracy.
