Visit to Ralli Museum in Caesarea
Ambassador Manuel Etchevarren visited the Ralli Museum in Caesarea on July 14th, together with a group of Latin American diplomats.
The Ralli Museums are a private, non-profit institution primarily dedicated to promoting contemporary Latin American art.
The first Ralli Museum was established in Punta del Este in 1988. The organization also operates similar museums in Santiago de Chile, and Marbella, Spain.
The Ralli Foundation was established by Harry Recanati (1918, Greece – 2011, Israel), who, through his career in finance, travelled extensively throughout Latin America and developed a particular interest in Latin American and Ibero-American art. After retiring from banking in 1980, he devoted himself to cultural activities until his passing.
The Ralli Museum in Caesarea features, as part of its permanent collection, works by Pedro Figari and other distinguished Uruguayan artists, including Manuel Pailós, José Pedro Costigliolo, Jorge Damiani, Miguel Ángel Battegazzore, Jorge Páez Vilaró, Juan Storm, Eduardo Sarlós, among others.
The museum also houses one of the world's largest collections of sculptures by Salvador Dalí.
