Who is this for?
Individuals interested in authorizing the departure of a minor from Uruguay.
Who can carry out this procedure?
People born in Uruguay, children of Uruguayans born abroad (Law 16.021), grandchildren of Uruguayans born abroad (Law 19.362), legal citizens, and foreigners who need to authorize the departure of a minor from the country, whether accompanied by the mother or father, absent guardian(s), alone, or in the company of a responsible adult.
Requirements
If the minor is traveling alone:
- Valid and in-good-condition identity card or passport of the authorizing mother and/or father.
- Current birth certificate or registration of the minor.
- Copy of the minor’s valid identity document.
If the minor is traveling accompanied:
- Valid and in-good-condition identity card or passport of the authorizing mother and/or father.
- Current birth certificate or registration of the minor.
- Copy of the minor’s valid identity card.
- Copy of the valid identity card or passport of the accompanying person.
Notes:
- The permit is valid for 180 days from its date of issue, and the number of authorized trips may be from one to ten, which can only be made during the permit's validity period.
- If the person requesting the permit at the Consulate does not present the original, valid birth certificate of the minor, it must be presented by the responsible adult to whom the permit is granted.
- Please note that if the minor’s birth certificate is Uruguayan, it must have been issued no more than 30 days prior to the permit completion; if it is from another country, it must be legalized or apostilled, as applicable.
- If both parents are granting authorization for the minor to leave the country, it is mandatory to present a copy of the valid identity document of the responsible adult who will process the permit in Uruguay.
Procedure
Once you have carefully reviewed the requirements detailed above, request an appointment via WhatsApp +972559893089, attaching all the requested documents. After verifying the information, you will receive a reply with the details of your appointment at the Consulate.
Cost: USD 18 (the equivalent in shekels will be paid according to the exchange rate on the first day of the relevant month). Payment will be made by bank transfer or in cash deposited at the nearest bank branch.
