Renewal of Uruguayan Identity Card
Who can carry out this procedure?
People born in Uruguay, children of Uruguayans born abroad (Law 16.021) and grandchildren of Uruguayans born abroad (Law 19.362).
The issuance of identity cards for the first time can only be processed at the National Directorate of Civil Identification, in Uruguay.
Requirements
Adults
Expired or damaged identity card:
- Present the Uruguayan identity card.
Stolen or lost identity card:
- Police report to the National Police of Israel for the theft or loss of the Uruguayan identity card.
Minors
Expired or damaged identity card:
- Expired or damaged Uruguayan identity card.
- Valid passport of the responsible adults.
Stolen or lost identity card:
- Police report to the National Police of Israel for the theft or loss of the Uruguayan identity card.
- Report in the Public Security Management System of Uruguay (done at the time of the procedure).
- Valid passport of the responsible adults.
Note: Minors must always be accompanied by their parents, who must authorize the procedure in person.
Procedure
Once you have carefully reviewed the requirements detailed above, request an appointment via the Consulate’s WhatsApp at +972559893089, sending the required documents photographed or scanned.
COST:
$18 USD (the equivalent in shekels will be paid according to the exchange rate on the first day of the current month). Payment will be made by bank transfer or in cash deposited at the bank branch near the Consular Office on the day of the appointment.
