11th World Meeting of Consultative Councils and 6th Meeting of Associations of Uruguayans Living Abroad
The Embassy of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay in Sweden is pleased to inform that the 11th World Meeting of Consultative Councils and the 6th Meeting of Associations of Uruguayans Residing Abroad will take place in the city of Montevideo, from November 18th to 21th, 2025.
This edition of the meeting, named in tribute to former Deputy Minister, Professor Belela Herrera, aims to strengthen the bond between Uruguay and the diaspora, promote the active participation of our communities abroad, and address matters of mutual interest.
In this regard, we invite members of the Consultative Councils and Associations of Uruguayans residing in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark to take part in the preparation of thematic proposals, which will be considered for inclusion in the event's agenda.
Proposals must be submitted no later than September 30, 2025, via email to vinculacion@mrree.gub.uy, with a copy to dgconsulares.vinculacion@mrree.gub.uy.
Likewise, we would be grateful to the organizations wishing to share community concerns or needs to send them to the institutional email of this Embassy: urusuecia@mrree.gub.uy, so they may be included in the report that this Mission will submit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Finally, please note that, outside the official framework of the Meeting, representatives of the organizations are coordinating a social gathering for Saturday, November 22th (venue to be confirmed), with the aim of fostering exchange among participants.
