The container, full of equipment worth U$S 184,000, departed from the port of Oslo on September 19 2024 and arrived in Montevideo at the end of October, destined for CENATT (National Center for Technical and Technological Assistance of MIDES). CENATT provides free medical assistance, and Hjelpemiddelfondet maintains a cooperative relationship with the organization through knowledge exchange and the donation of instruments that were used in Norway and are in excellent condition.

Hjelpemiddelfondet began its activities 22 years ago and has been collaborating with the Hospital de Clínicas in Montevideo, Uruguay. This institution had a significant need for hospital equipment, and equipment in excellent condition was sent from Norway. The Hospital de Clínicas began operations in 1953 and is now a university hospital responsible for teaching, patient care, and research. Over the years, Hjelpemiddelfondet has sent a total of 390 hospital beds, as well as many other hospital equipment and computers for the hospital's IT department.
