Picnic of Uruguayan Friends
On the 23rd of this month, a new edition of the Annual Gathering of Friends of Uruguay took place. This celebration has been held for several decades, although its continuity was interrupted by the events following October 7, 2023.
The Embassy joined the initiative promoted by the Uruguayan Friends Gathering Committee, which featured a tribute to Rubén Rada, a performance by Uruguayan-Israeli comedian Konfino, and remarks by Ambassador Manuel Etchevarren.
Visual artist Carlos Agunin presented the Embassy with a caricature of the great artist, who recently passed away.
The event provided an opportunity for Uruguayans to meet and reconnect, reaffirming the ties between Israel and Uruguay, while also promoting awareness of our country's art and cuisine.
