Consulate General in Guangzhou

On Saturday, October 10, the 4th edition of Guangzhou Gourmet Week (GGW) officially opened at Haixinsha Park, at the foot of the iconic Canton Tower. The gastronomic event will run until October 19, coinciding with the 140th Canton Fair.

For the first time, Uruguay is participating in this important event through the National Meat Institute (INAC), in collaboration with the local restaurant Get Holiday, presenting a culinary offering centered on Uruguayan beef.

This year's edition brings together more than 200 food and beverage brands, including nearly 20 prestigious restaurants recognized by the Black Pearl Restaurant Guide, traditional Cantonese dining establishments, and international culinary offerings. One of the event's distinctive features is that renowned restaurants adapt their fine-dining creations into more casual and affordable formats, making these culinary experiences accessible to a wider audience.

The program also features cooking demonstrations by renowned chefs, culinary workshops, tastings, and live musical performances, creating a festive atmosphere welcoming both local residents and international visitors.

Uruguay's first participation in this event represents a new opportunity to showcase the quality and versatility of Uruguayan beef, introduce it to Chinese consumers, and strengthen ties with the local gastronomy sector.

The Consulate General invites the Uruguayan community and the general public to visit Guangzhou Gourmet Week and discover Uruguay's culinary offerings at the Get Holiday stand. Admission is free, with advance reservations available through the official GGW WeChat Mini Program or registration upon arrival.

The event will remain open until October 19, from 3:00 p.m. on weekdays and from 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, closing at 10:00 p.m. each day.
