From April 27 to 29, 2026, Uruguay participated in Anuga Select China, one of southern China’s leading food and beverage trade shows, held at the Shenzhen Convention & Exhibition Center in Futian.

Uruguay’s participation was led by the National Meat Institute (INAC), with a booth strategically located in the international pavilion. The space offered tastings of Uruguayan beef and highlighted the product’s distinctive attributes, including its quality, traceability, food safety, and consistency.

During the trade show, INAC received recognition for participating for five consecutive years, reflecting Uruguay’s sustained strategy to position its beef in the Chinese market.

One of the highlights was the “Foodie Space: Uruguayan Beef Exclusive Cooking & Tasting Session,” an exclusive culinary demonstration and tasting for approximately 30 guests from the food service industry, including chefs, restaurant operators, and other industry professionals. During the session, local chefs prepared dishes featuring Uruguayan beef, combining Cantonese- and Uruguayan-inspired preparations. The event showcased the product’s versatility and strengthened its presence in specialized, high-value market segments.

Uruguay’s participation in Anuga Select China 2026 reaffirmed the importance of maintaining an active presence at professional food industry platforms in China, particularly amid growing competition in the animal protein market.

Through these initiatives, Uruguay continues to consolidate its reputation as a reliable supplier of high-quality beef, supported by robust food safety standards and internationally recognized traceability systems.
