On April 29, 2026, a promotional dinner featuring Uruguayan beef was held in Guangzhou. The event was organized by PMI Food Service, a long-standing importer and distributor in southern China, in coordination with Uruguay’s National Meat Institute (INAC), the Uruguay Meats brand, and the Consulate General of Uruguay in Guangzhou.

Held at the DoubleTree by Hilton, the event brought together representatives from the food service industry, particularly hotels, restaurants, chefs, and purchasing decision-makers from these market segments.

The evening featured a culinary experience designed to showcase the quality, versatility, and traceability of Uruguayan beef by combining a variety of cuts and preparations with techniques and flavors from local Cantonese cuisine.

Uruguay was represented by INAC’s Asia Office, through its Country Manager, Victoria Cai, and by the Consul General of Uruguay in Guangzhou, Matías Benítez.

The event helped strengthen ties with key stakeholders in the hotel and restaurant sectors and reaffirmed Uruguay’s position as a reliable supplier of high-quality beef to the Chinese market.
