Presentation on the commitments made by the Uruguayan Government in relation to gender equality

On 9 March, Uruguay held its main event to mark the International Women's Day.

During the event, the National Institute for Women presented its State Accountability Report. The report reviews the progress made in relation to the 90 commitments made by the Government for 2025 and highlights that 82% of the planned actions have already been completed or are in the process of being implemented.

In this context, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs currently has all of its commitments underway. This reflects the sustained progress in achieving the established objectives.

Furthermore, and in line with the priorities defined by the current administration, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to strengthen policies aimed at gender equality, which is a central pillar of public administration in Uruguay. Within this framework, new actions related to the 2025-2030 Gender Equality Plan will be promoted, with its official presentation scheduled for April of this year.
