Who is this for?

Individuals wishing to authorise the departure of a minor from Uruguay.

How to begin the process?

To begin the process, you must provide the following documentation, depending on whether the minor is travelling alone or accompanied:

1. Required documents: 

If the minor is travelling alone:

• Valid identity document (in good condition) of the authorising parent(s)
• Valid birth certificate or civil registry extract of the minor (no more than 30 days old if issued in Uruguay; if issued abroad, no more than one year old and must be duly legalised or apostilled)
• Copy of the minor’s valid identity document
• Application form (available at the bottom of the page)

If the minor is travelling accompanied:

• Valid identity document (in good condition) of the authorising parent(s)
• Valid birth certificate or civil registry extract of the minor (same validity requirements as above)
• Copy of the minor’s valid identity document
• Copy of the accompanying person’s valid identity document
• Application form (available at the bottom of the page)

Note:

If the person managing the procedure at the Consulate does not present the original valid birth certificate of the minor, it must be presented by the person to whom the authorisation is granted.

If both parents grant authorisation for the minor to leave the country, a copy of the valid identity document of the adult responsible for managing the procedure in Uruguay must also be submitted.

2. Book an appointment: send an email to cgsydney@mrree.gub.uy, attaching the form and the corresponding documentation.

3. Attend in person on the day of your appointment with all required documentation.

4. Fee: 28 Australian dollars. The amount may vary according to the current exchange rate between the Australian dollar and the US dollar. Payment must be made by bank deposit on the day of the appointment.
