Who is this for?

Interesados/as en autorizar a un menor de edad a residir en Uruguay.

How to start the process?

1. Required documents: 

• Valid and good-condition identity document of the parent(s) or legal guardian(s) granting authorisation
• Valid birth certificate or registration of the minor (issued within the last 30 days if Uruguayan; if foreign, issued within the last year and duly legalised or apostilled, as applicable)
• Copy of the minor’s identity document
• Copy of the identity document of the adult responsible for the minor in Uruguay
• Application form (downloadable at the bottom of this page)

Note:

If the person submitting the application at the Consulate does not present the valid original birth certificate of the minor, it must be submitted in Uruguay by the person receiving the authorisation.

If both parents are authorising the minor’s residence in Uruguay, a copy of the valid identity document of the adult responsible for the minor in Uruguay must also be submitted.

2. Request an appointment by sending an email to: cgsydney@mrree.gub.uy, attaching the completed form and required documentation.

3. Attend your appointment in person with all required documents.

4. Cost: This procedure is free of charge.
