Embassy of Uruguay in Canada

Requirements:

1. Canadian literal birth certificate apostilled and issued less than 90 days prior.
2. Copy of the Uruguayan birth certificate of the father/mother who grants nationality. In case of birth registration through a Uruguayan grandfather/grandmother, a copy of your Uruguayan birth certificate must also be provided.
3. Valid identity documents of mother and father.
4. Two witnesses over 18 years of age carrying their valid identity documents. The witnesses may be direct relatives, such as grandparents, uncles/aunts, among others.
5. Completed application form (find it at the bottom of the page)
6. Documents issued in English must be officially translated into Spanish at the Consulate (See Translations)

Once you have carefully reviewed the requirements detailed above, request your appointment by email at cdottawa@mrree.gub.uy  sending the required documents as attachments.

After verifying the information, you will receive a reply with the details of your appointment so that you may appear at the Consulate on the indicated date and time with the required documentation in original version.

Cost: 25 Canadian dollars (the amount may vary by 1 or 2 Canadian dollars, equivalent to the exchange rate between the Canadian dollar and the U.S. dollar for the current month). Payment will be made on the day of your appointment by bank deposit or e-transfer to cdottawa@mrree.gub.uy
