Certificate of Existence

For persons residing in the cities of Ottawa or Gatineau who receive their benefits through the Banco de Previsión Social (BPS), Caja Notarial, Caja Policial, Caja Bancaria, Caja Militar, among other Uruguayan pension institutions or funds.

Requirements

This procedure may be carried out in person at the Consulate on Tuesdays and Thursdays, without requesting a prior appointment, or virtually by sending the request and the requirements listed below to the same email address.

In-person procedure:

Present a valid Uruguayan identity document, either a passport or Uruguayan identity card.

Virtual procedure:

Scanned copy of the identity card, front and back, or Uruguayan passport, information page.

Proof of Life Certificate issued by a medical institution, bearing the signature of the responsible physician, the stamp, and the medical registration number.

Certificate of Existence issued by the Civil Registry or City Hall.

Caja SRPFFAA: The Certificate of Existence for the Uruguayan Military Pension Fund may only be processed in January and July of each year.
