It is hereby informed that the National Directorate of Culture (DNC) of the Ministry of Education and Culture, through the National Institute of Visual Arts (INAV), in coordination with its Department of International Relations and Cooperation, is opening a public call for the Artistic Project Award for the Uruguay Pavilion at the 61st International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale 2026.
Artists and curators with Uruguayan citizenship (by birth or naturalization), over 18 years of age, whether residing in Uruguay or abroad, may participate as project applicants.
A single prize will be awarded to the selected project, amounting to UYU 450,000 (four hundred and fifty thousand Uruguayan pesos). In addition, the holder of the awarded project will receive a financial contribution of UYU 450,000 (four hundred and fifty thousand Uruguayan pesos) to cover expenses related to travel, per diem allowances, accommodation, and travel insurance for the team responsible for the project in Venice during the installation and opening of the exhibition.
The deadline for project submissions is strictly August 28, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. (Uruguay time). Applications must be submitted exclusively through the platform culturaenlinea.uy.
