MGAP and INIA technical experts visit Germany

Within the framework of the extensive and deep-rooted ties of scientific cooperation in the agri-food sector, which date back over 100 years between Uruguay and Germany, and, in particular, the bilateral cooperation agreement between the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP), the National Institute for Agricultural Research (INIA) and the Federal Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Regional Identity (BMLEH)—which established the “Uruguayan–German Agricultural Dialogue” (DAUA)—a delegation from the MGAP and INIA took part in a scientific exchange (“study tour”) in Germany from 11 to 16 October, comprising a packed programme of meetings and technical visits.
This agreement aims to promote the exchange of specialist knowledge on agro-ecological, sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural production systems, in cooperation with various institutions in the Uruguayan agricultural sector (MGAP-INIA) and the German agricultural sector (BMLEH and the Julius Kühn Institute). Furthermore, it seeks to develop training and higher education in the agricultural sector, climate adaptation and climate protection, organic farming and value chains.
