100% Connected educational centres

The digital transformation developed in Uruguay has permeated fundamentally in two very important areas of society such as health and education. The deployment of a digital inclusion strategy through plans and programs that use ICT as a factor for transforming the country's opportunity structure has contributed significantly to reducing the digital divide.

Initiatives such as Plan Ceibal, which promotes access and use of the internet and devices, both inside and outside the classroom, have been key to social inclusion. As a result of its implementation, all boys and girls in public education have a computer for personal use, which managed to reduce the gap in access to devices at home. Likewise, all educational establishments in the country are connected, and almost all public schools have infrastructure for videoconferencing.

  • 100% of children in public education with a computer for personal use.
  • 100% of public schools connected.
  • 99% of public schools with infrastructure for video conferencing.
