Montevideo / Official Visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of New Zealand, Winston Peters

Foreign Minister Mario Lubetkin met with his New Zealand counterpart, Winston Peters, in Montevideo, Uruguay. The meeting reaffirmed the excellent state of the bilateral relationship, built on shared values such as a commitment to multilateralism, the defense of International Law, and the promotion of human rights.

Both parties agreed to continue deepening political dialogue and cooperation in strategic areas such as agricultural sustainability, science diplomacy, digital governance, and the environmental agenda.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to further advancing the economic and trade agenda by promoting bilateral trade, cooperation in innovation, the promotion of investment, and productive sustainability, as well as efforts to strengthen engagement with the Asia-Pacific region through various negotiation frameworks.
