My Uruguayan resident identity card has expired, what do I have do to renew it?
To renew the Uruguayan identity card, the person must prove that he/she still resides in the country. For this, a Migratory Certificate for the renewal of an identity card must be requested at the National Department of Migration.
If the person who wants to renew is a temporary resident, he/she should not request the migratory certificate, but should contact the National Department of Migration at dnm-residenciastemporarias@gub.uy.
